Additional Paintings from my Halloween Journal

I have been sporadically posting some pictures from my 2024 Halloween Journal.  I wish I had more time.  I am working on some new projects but I am not ready to reveal those yet.  However, I will be blogging about them shortly.  It seems that more and more lately, I have time to work on a project or I have time to blog about it, but not both.

In the meantime, I hope that you will enjoy these pictures I painted in my journal.  I am more of a sculptor than a painter.  I hoped that doing this journal would encourage me to paint more.  At least I am giving it an effort!  Painting is a skill developed over time.  If I don't start somewhere, I will never improve.

This is my first attempt at painting a skull.  The jaw is a little too wide.  Hopefully, my next one will be better.  The flower is supposed to be a Marigold.  Painted with acrylics.

There are more photos below.  I am having trouble trying to figure out how to place them on the blog.  Please keep scrolling down.

The cemetery one came out pretty well I thought.  I worked hard to try to portray a heavy mist obscuring the background and also swirl among the head stones. Another picture painted with acrylics.

The Cats on Parade picture below was a mixture of watercolor and acrylic paints.  I wanted a bright moon but a cloudy night.  I sprinkled salt over the night sky to get the mottled effect.  I messed up somewhere on the fence line.  Rather than have one fence post to thick, I just left it as it was with the thin line out of place.  I thought it would look better than having an obviously large line in the center of the picture.

I did the best I could on the cats.

I have one more set of pictures to post.  After that I will be revealing my new projects.  Yes! Projects plural.  This time I am working on more than one at a time, as they will be long term projects.
